Melbourne Knights
Formed 1953
The club was formed in 1953 by Croation migrants
as SC Croatia. In 1974 there was a merge with another local club Essendon
Lions to form Essendon Croatia who competed in the Victorian
State League. In 1984 they finally gained entry to the National Soccer
League and changed their name to Melbourne Croatia. The club competed in the National Soccer League between 1984 and 2004 and were one of the most
succesful teams in the 90's. In 1996 they
changed their name again to the Melbourne Knights. They now compete in the Victorian Premier League.

remove all ethnic ties they changed their name again to the Melbourne Knights.
